What is Kybella®?
Kybella contains deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in your body that helps break down fat. When injected beneath the chin, it targets and destroys fat cells, which your body naturally flushes out over time. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

Questions
Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid, a substance your body naturally produces to break down fat. When injected under the chin, it destroys fat cells permanently. Once those fat cells are gone, they can’t store or accumulate fat again.

Yes, expect some swelling, tenderness, and mild bruising under the chin for a few days post-treatment.
Swelling is most noticeable after your first session and typically subsides within 3 to 7 days.
You may notice visible improvement after the second session, but final results typically appear 6 to 12 weeks after your last treatment. The process is gradual as your body naturally flushes out the destroyed fat cells.
Yes. Once Kybella destroys the fat cells, they do not come back; as long as you maintain a stable weight. No maintenance treatments are needed once your desired results are achieved.
You’ll feel small pinches or stings during the injection process. We use topical numbing and cooling to make the experience as comfortable as possible. Most clients rate it as manageable.
Kybella may not be right for you if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Have an active skin infection or medical condition in the treatment area.
Have significant skin laxity (loose or sagging skin) under the chin.
We’ll review all contraindications during your consultation.
Kybella is currently FDA-approved only for submental (under-chin) fat. It’s not recommended for use elsewhere.
Some clients take 1–2 days off due to swelling, especially after the first treatment. If you have an event or photos coming up, we recommend scheduling Kybella at least 2–3 weeks in advance.
